Publication: Research Article Course at UiTM Puncak Alam
Terima kasih kepada UPENA dengan kerjasama UPENA UiTM Johor kerana menjemput saya sebagai penceramah bagi kursus penerbitan artikel berimpak tinggi di UiTM Puncak Alam yang bermula pada 24-25 November 2009. AlhamduLillah, kursus ini kerana berjaya berjalan dengan sempurna dan menarik pensyarah UiTM Johor. Di kursus peserta diperkenalkan dengan jenis jurnal, cara menghantar artikel dan cara-cara menulis artikel dalam jurnal berimpak tinggi. Penilaian Tahap Kecekapan (PTK) 6, Universiti Teknologi MARA
InsyaAllah, saya akan menghadiri penilaian tahap kecekapan (PTK) 6 yang akan diadakan di kampus UiTM Puncak Alam bermula pada 6-10 Disember 2009. Dah lama juga tak ke PTK. Kalau tak silap PTK 4 yang saya hadiri dulu pada tahun 2005, dan sekarang saya ber'PTK kembali. Harapan saya semoga semuanya berjalan dengan lancar dan dirahmati oleh Allah SWT.

From thesis to research publication course, Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia
AlhamduLillah, hari ini saya menerima jemputan dari Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia (KPM), sebagai penceramah untuk kursus dari tesis ke penerbitan. InsyaAllah, kursus ini akan dijalankan pada 4 Disember 2009 di Hotel Mahkota Melaka. Dijangkakan seramai 70 moderator dari Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG) akan bersama-sama menjayakan kursus yang bermula pada 3-5 Disember 2009. Terima kasih kepada Bahagian Pendidikan Guru, Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia kerana menjemput saya, dan ini merupakan jemputan kali ke 2.

Article Writing Course, UPENA 24-25 November 2009

Hari ini saya terima panggilan dari University Publication Centre (UPENA) menjemput saya sebagai penceramah bagi bengkel penulisan artikel penyelidikan yang akan diadakan pada 24-25 November 2009 di Kampus UiTM Puncak Alam, Selangor. Terima kasih UPENA kerana memberi kepercayaan kepada saya bagi menjayakan kursus ini.
Article Writing Course, Intekma Resort, Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia
AlhamduLillah, bengkel penulisan artikel penyelidikan yang diadakan pada 16-18 November 2009 telah tamat dengan jayanya. Bengkel ini diadakan adalah untuk memperkenal dan meningkatkan penulisan jurnal bagi pensyarah di Institut Perguruan Guru (IPG), Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia. Seramai 22 orang pensyarah IPG di Unit Research & Development yang datang dari seluruh Malaysia hadir di bengkel ini, dan sebanyak 11 buah artikel berjaya disaring. Bagi pihak saya dan UiTM, saya memohon berbanyak terima kasih kepada Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia kerana memberi peluang kepada saya berkongsi pengetahuan dan pengalaman dalam penerbitan artikel. Terima kasih kepada Dr Nashrudin, Dr Fatimah dan rakan-rakan yang saya kenali, dan diharapkan semoga kerjasama ini akan terus dipupuk dan ditingkat pada masa akan datang. Harapan saya, semoga pensyarah IPG dapat meningkat jumlah penerbitan artikel bagi tahun 2010. InsyaAllah.

ISI Journal vs. ISI Conference Proceedings-Zaidi's version
Artikel yang ditulis oleh Intan (http://intansalwani.blogspot.com/), menarik perhatian saya. Memang betul apa yang diperkatakan oleh Intan dan sememangnya kita tidak boleh menyamakan 'kedudukan' ISI jurnal dengan ISI conference proceedings kerana kelas mereka amat berbeza. Untuk menerbitkan ISI jurnal sememangnya "amat" sukar berbandingan ISI conference proceedings kerana ianya diterbitkan hasil dari pembentangan kertas kerja seminar dan sememangnya organiser akan 'membenarkan' banyak paper diterima bagi tujuan keuntungan. Oleh yang demikian, kebanyakkan penyelidik yang menghadiri seminar adalah lebih untuk "networking" dengan penyelidik seluruh dunia. Tidak ada salahnya menghadiri seminar kerana kita akan mendapat banyak idea baru dalam penyelidikan dan ramai rakan penyelidik. Bagi pelajar PhD, seminar merupakan medan yang sesuai bagi mereka mengenengahkan idea mereka. Di sana pelajar akan dapat banyak feedbacks terutamanya daripada mereka yang pakar dalam bidang berkenaan. Berbalik pada isu asal, penerbitan artikel dalam ISI jurnal memerlukan "breakthrough of new knowledge", dan bukan sekadar replications, dan idea 'biasa'. Setiap suggestions memerlukan justifications dan fakta yang lengkap. Oleh yang demikian, ada sesetengah universiti sanggup membayar insentif yang banyak kepada ahli universiti yang berjaya menerbitkan artikel dalam ISI jurnal. Secara keseluruhannya, ISI jurnal tidak sama dengan ISI conference proceedings dari segi kualiti, or contribution to new knowledge.
