ITEX 2008

Another MIS Article Accepted-Aslib Proceedings ISI Ranked Journal

AlhamduLillah, I received this good news last week, when Prof. Dr. Nicholas, Chief-in-Editor of Aslib Proceedings, an ISI-Ranked Impact Factor Journal-Emerald, asked me to fill-up JAR form and do minor ammendments on the article. InsyaAllah, the article will be published in this year. Below is an abstract of the article;

Title: Perceived resistance, user resistance and managers' performance in Malaysian port industry

Authors: Norzaidi Mohd Daud, Chong Siong Choy and Intan Salwani Mohamed

Purpose – Using the extended task-technology fit (TTF) model, this paper attempts to determine whether task-technology fit, perceived resistance, user resistance and usage influence manager’s performance.
Design/methodology/approach – The study was conducted on 150 middle managers from various organisations in Malaysia’s port industry.
Findings - The structural equation modelling results reveal that task-technology fit is significantly related to usage and perceived resistance and that perceived resistance is a predictor of usage. Usage predicts performance but not user resistance. There is no relationship between usage and user resistance, and vice-versa.
Research limitations/implications – The study focuses only on Malaysia’s port industry and concentrates only on management perspective of intranet usage.
Practical implications – The result provide insights on how the Malaysian port industry and other organisations of a similar structure could enhance on their intranet usage.
Originality/value – This study is perhaps one of the first to address the intranet usage in the port industry that introduces two importance factors (i.e. perceived resistance and user resistance) that influence manager’s task performance.
Keywords-Task-technology fit; Perceived resistance; User resistance; Usage; Middle managers’ performance; Port industry; Malaysia.
Paper Type-Research Paper

So, Selamat Berinovasi.

Komen editor buku UPENA

Dr. Zaidi, komen dari editor bagi buku Selection of Research Papers in Social Sciences and Management, Vol. 2 dah ada, Nah...ini dia. Saya pun ambil naskah manuskip beserta komen editor dari staf UPENA. Saya belek satu persatu komen editor berkenaan. Dibaris akhir maklumat editor, tertulis-"Secara keseluruhan, kertas-kertas kajian ini layak dipertimbangkan untuk terbitan". AlhamduLillah, manuskrip ini diterima. Koordinator Sains Kemanusian, Ustaz S.Slahudin Suyurno, tersenyum aje melihat saya, bila saya tersengih sendirian.
