Acceptance for Publication-Maritime Policy and Management-Listed in SCOPUS

AlhamduLillah, semalam saya menerima berita gembira bahawa artikel saya diterima untuk penerbitan di Maritime Policy and Management. Agak lama juga saya menunggu, hampir 1 tahun untuk mengetahui keputusan. AlhamduLillah, bagi tahun 2009 sehingga bulan Februari, sudah 4 artikel antarabangsa dalam jurnal perdana (flagship jurnal) telah berjaya diterbitkan. InsyaAllah, KPI saya dalam tahun ini sekurang-kurangnya 5 artikel akan diterbitkan. Terima kasih diatas bantuan dan sokongan daripada rakan-rakan sepejuangan. Buat masa sekarang, ada 6 artikel dalam under-review (2 artikel di Industrial Management and Data Systems (SCOPUS & Thomson ISI), 1 artikel di International Journal of Education Development, 1 artikel di International Journal of Business, Accounting and Finance, 1 di Internet Research (SCOPUS & Thomson ISI) dan 1 di International Journal of Technology Management (SCOPUS)), kalau ada rezeki, InsyaAllah sekurang-kurangnya satu artikel berjaya diterbitkan. Sedikit maklumat mengenai artikel ini (Maritime Policy and Management);

Title: Towards a holistic model in investigating the effects of Intranet usage on managerial performance: A study on Malaysian port industry

Abstract

Using the extended task-technology fit (TTF) model, this paper investigates how certain factors [e.g. task characteristics, technology (i.e. Intranet) characteristics, middle managers’ demographic characteristics, task-technology fit, perceived usefulness and usage] affect the port middle managers’ job performance. Numerous organizations in the port industry constitute the population of interest. The preliminary results suggest that the majority of middle managers believed that Intranet could improve their job performance. The result of structural equation modelling (SEM) indicates that task characteristics and Intranet characteristics significantly justified their variance on task-technology fit. However, demographic variables do not predict task-technology fit. Perceived usefulness is found to be a predictor of Intranet usage. Task technology fit; on the other hand, significantly predict usage and both significantly explained the variance on middle managers’ job performance. This study is probably one of the first to investigate the effects of Intranet usage and managerial performance in an integrative perspective, taking into account various user acceptance models and users’ demographic characteristics.

Keywords: Extended task-technology fit; Intranet usage; managerial performance; port industry; Malaysia.

Paper type: Research paper
