Associate Professor Dr. Norzaidi Haji Mohd Daud (email:; h/p: 6 012-686 0035) received his doctorate degree (Ph.D) in Management from Multimedia University, Malaysia under the Universiti Teknologi MARA Graduate Scholarship. Currently, he is Director, Communities of Research (CoRe) (Humanities and Quality of Life)(HQL), Chair, Publication, Arshad Ayub Graduate Business School (AAGBS), and Chair, Top Business School, AAGBS. Previously, he was visiting Professor at King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, Head of Integrated Information and Publication Centre, Institute of Business Excellence (IBE), and Head of IT Support, Research Management Institute (RMI), UiTM. Recently, he has published 7 books and over 100 articles in ISI WOS/WOK, SCOPUS, ERA journal outlets as well as conference proceedings. Moreover, his research works had won 2 international best paper awards (Germany and Czech Republic), 70 innovation awards (Geneve, Brussels, Pittsburg, Seoul, ITEX, MTE, IPTA Expo, PECIPTA, i-INVEX, IID, BIID etc.); Chief Jury-Kumpulan Inovasi dan Kreativiti (KIK), Prime Minister Department; Chief Jury, Innovation Award (AIJPM), Prime Minister Department; Chief Jury-Ministry of Home Affairs, Chief Jury, International Syariah Compliance Idea, Invention, Innovation and Design Expo 2014 and Innovation Honorary Speaker, Ministry of Human Resource. He had won several awards such as UiTM Best Speaker Award 2014, Leading Researcher by Example Award in 2007, Outstanding Club & Society Advisor Award in 2002 and listed in Malaysia Who's Who 2013/2014 as well as AcademicKeys Who's Who 2013

Pengalaman pertama sebagai pensyarah

Masa tu saya baru aje habis buat master, dan kerja sambilan aje di sekitar bandar Butterworth. Bila dapat interview pensyarah UiTM, saya terima dengan hati yang seronok. Kamu tak kisah kalau diarahkan ke mana-mana cawangan, termasuk sabah dan sarawak? tanya Datuk Adnan, mantan TNC UiTM, sewaktu interview kedua saya. Tak kisah...mana-mana cawangan saya sanggup pergi. Selang beberapa bulan, saya dapat kerja sebagai pensyarah di UiTM Johor. Okay tu. Masa tu saya masih mengajar di Institut Yayasan Bumiputra Pulau Pinang, Tasek Gelugor. Saya ke Segamat dengan semangat tinggi bagaikan gunung kilimanjaro dan gunung tapir. Naik bas express MARA dari Puduraya dan ke Segamat ambil masa yang agak lama, dekat 6 jam lebih. Semua pekan kecil bas ni berhenti. Sampai di pekan Segamat, saya terus naik teksi dengan bayaran RM10 ke kampus UiTM. Semangat makin berkobar-kobar. Sampai di kampus saya terus ke pejabat pentadbiran, jumpa dengan Pak Pin, CC. Dah selesai kerja di pentadbiran, saya ke common room, duduk di sana. Ada yang datang menyapa, awak lecturer baru? Ya! jawab saya ringkas bagi menunjukkan lagak sopan pada senior. Ajar apa? Tak tahu lagi sebab tak jumpa Pengarah lagi. Esoknya, saya diperkenalkan dengan Kak Hadaliza, ketua program BBA, dan saya dibawa berjumpa dengan Timbalan Pengarah, Akademik, Dr. Muhd Kamil. Saya ditugaskan mengajar finance, walaupun surat tawaran tertulis, jawatan: Pensyarah Pengurusan. Kita kekurangan pensyarah finance, awak boleh handle kelas finance? Tak apa, saya okay aje. Workload diberikan kepada saya bagi menggantikan seorang pensyarah yang cuti sakit sebab terjatuh pokok manggis. Teruk juga sakitnya, sampai kena berehat 3 bulan. Zaidi, awak perlu ajar subject portfolio management, final year student, okay dan investment management. Okayy...yy mula dah okay meleret aje, sebab kelas yang saya ambil tu dah berjalan sampai mid-term. So, kena buat ulangkaji dengan banyak, sebab tak nak ajar ajaran sesat dalam kelas. Masuk kelas semua student pakat diam, sebab saya berlagak macam general askar yang memberi beberapa arahan untuk dipatuhi. Sunyi tepi, macam malaikat lalu (orang tua-tua suka kata macam ni). Pengalaman mengajar di Institut dan Sekolah Menengah dulu saya gunakan sebaik mungkin. Kelas pertama saya tamat dengan baik dan saya tersenyum sebab dah abih satu bab!

he he. Masih ingat lg, kelas tu kelas saya la Dr. dan yang jatuh pokok manggis tu En Jaafar our koordinator for DIIA pada masa tu. Rindunya dengan segamat.

Amier, sekarang ni Encik Jaafar dah pindah ke UiTM Perlis. Soronok betul dengan pengalaman di UiTM Johor. Apa khabar rakan-rakan Amier sekarang? Justine...
